It is 1997, eight months since vigilante justice-seeker Claymore Straker fled South Africa after his explosive testimony to Desmond Tutu’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In Paris, Rania LaTour, journalist, comes home to find that her son and her husband, a celebrated human rights lawyer, have disappeared. On an isolated island off the coast of East Africa, the family that Clay has befriended is murdered as he watches.

This is the first book I have read by Paul and I have since purchased the rest of his books, which has done damage to my bank account.

Absolution is a heartwrenching thriller which had non-stop action which was overwhelming. The fast-paced gripping up to-date political thriller will have you gripped from start to finish. I read this book in one sitting as I just did not want to put it down, it would be a great read for holiday times although do not plan much in your day as you will want to read it from start to finish. When I finished this book, it was when I was able to finally breath as the story just sucked me and spat me out at the conclusion.

This was certainly a brutal and thought-provoking read, not for the faint hearted.
